Snow Beautiful and Snow Much

between-the-worlds-snowflake

I walked this day,
March First they say,
Snowflakes dance all about me,
Trillions of tiny 6 pointed crystals of ice charging the air, fluttering by,
as powerful as they’re quartz based counterparts of ageless earth,
revered for their power and grace,
only magnified by a million,
nature’s energy bounty way,
Feeling charged and alive as the peaceful thick blanket of snow lay a smooth of white,
tiny crystals ablaze in the peaking March sunshine,
as the final flakes float to earth and lay,
and the faerie sparkles glitter the new-month day.

I shoveled the snow this day,
March First they say,
Shoulders and back ache as has been the way,
For much of this winter’s stay
May spring’s warmth arrive today,
Not a day too soon anyway,
But no matter how hard this winter weigh,
I’ll always treasure this winter’s day.
